    About me

Journalist. Traveller. Communications consultant, now and then.

I love finding out about things, places and, sometimes, people. If you happened to come across an overly eager girl on her first day of school many years ago, that was probably me.

Beautiful things move me. Nature, art and sometimes people. Beauty is contagious: once you learn to recognise it, you cannot go back. And beauty does you good.

I am mad about stories. Books, films, or the passenger who sits down beside me on the train and starts telling me about her children, the dog, the plumber who still hasn't come to fix the leak that is staining the kitchen ceiling. Perhaps that is also why I would rather listen than talk.

I have never been any good at coming up with witty comebacks, and they always occur to me too late. I believe in the written word. It gives me time to think and work out if it's the right one, if it's beautiful, if it can be heard and if it gives something to the person reading it. That is where I put all of myself.

I smile all the time. Shyness is to blame. There is nothing I can do about it. I have tried to keep a straight face, but my features rebel: the muscles crinkle into movements I cannot control; my eyes narrow; and there it is at last, the smile.

    What I do

    Journalism, communication, writing

Before graduating in Communication Studies at the University of Padua, I was already working with local newspapers and television stations as a journalist. One of my most important goals was to be admitted to the Italian register of journalists as a professional member, which I achieved in 2009. Since 2012, I have managed press offices for public bodies and small businesses, collaborating with them on strategic and promotional projects.

My work includes writing, devising strategies and content, and creating short journalistic videos. It is these skills that have enabled me to work as a freelance journalist full time for around fifteen years from a small village in the province of Cremona.

In 2025, I wrote my first book, Andalusia in treno. I wrote it to share my love of travel and to provide inspiration for anyone who would like to organise their own adventures but has not yet found the courage.
